Petey's Tackle Your Tackle Deals on Wheels!

Captain Larry with Skinnywater and his two sons on board started the season off the right way by getting the lines in the water on opening day with a few Petey parachutes in the mix! CIT (Captain in Training) Larry Jr doin the reeling along side his brother CIT Phil doin the netting landed this nice 38" 25# rockfish in tight on the planer boards on a chartreuse Petey parachute tandem. Captain Larry and Skinnywater got the chance to sit back and watch the first one of the season come on board! Way to go!

Picking up right where he left off last year, Captain Morgans is hammering the biguns shown here with a 45" 33.10# whopper rockfish caught April 20th on the rivah. Captain Morgans reports this beauty hit a perch rig tandem which has been a long time favorite at Petey's Tackle and on the leader board. Now that's gettin'er done! Here is Captain Paul showin off the results from April 20th with this wonderful 38" rockfish! Captain Paul took many field trips this spring with the Coles Point Crew, to visit ole Petey on the hard pavement in Montross VA. Captain Paul is happy to report that the fish was caught on a Petey special (something you generally won't find elsewhere). Great job Captain Paul...I hope I can keep a secret!

Captain Lonnie fishing with the Coles Point Crew got in the mix with another 38" rock. Captain Lonnie has a good grip on the fish and a serious grin on his face which tells me these guys are having fun! Way to go! Fish On! Petey!

Skinnywater sent this one in fishing April 26th on the rivah pullin a few old Petey Baits that have produced year after year. As you can see, that fish could not resist one of Petey's grape apes! Way to go Skinny!

After a slow start, Captain Chad came back this week and put those rigs and jigs from Petey's Tackle to the test! This beauty came in on a white 6-pack schoolie that Captain Chad added to his spread. Way to go! Captain Chad, something tells me you are going to be frequently featured on Petey's Tackle Fishin Gallery!

Big Kenny finally got his season started here showin off a nice one caught April 27th on a 6 arm Chartreuse umbrella 25 ' off the planer boards. I guess Big Kenny has got the party started. FISH ON!

Captain Paul Sr shown here with a nice 34" rockfish to get the day started pullin some new Petey baits! Nice fish!

Captain Paul Jr did his part in fillin the cooler to the top holding this beautiful rockfish caught on a New York Giants umbrella rig (Coles Point crew are some serious Skins fans, no Dallas Cowboys on their boat). What ever you call it, that thing is hot! FISH ON! Petey!

Here is Captain Davey making his contribution to the cooler with the New York Giant hangin out of the mouth! WOW Davey! Way to go!

Man that Coles Point Crew is still on fire with Paul here and his big fish caught on Petey's Shamu the killer rockfish bait! Man these fish are lookin good! Nice job Paul!

Here is Captain Ron fishin with Big Kenny showin a really nice fish! Captain Ron and Petey have been fishin together on and off for 25+ years. Good to see the old crew still can put fish in the box!

Captain Chad had a super weekend April 26-27 here showin off one he nailed on a grape ape tandem from Petey's Tackle! Way to go Chad! Fish On! Petey!

Here are Captain Kevin and Captain Pat of the Coles Point Crew in tandem! Caught on somemore of Petey's rigs and Jigs! Great fish guys!

The secret is out of the box now! Captain Pat showin off this whopper after landing it with the rig still in it's mouth. Yes that is the Dallas Cowboy, NY Giant or Detroit Lion, one of those Petey specials!

Captain Kevin put his Shamu rig back over and took a second to get this picture showing off this really nice rockfish. This season is red hot for the Coles Point Crew!

We always welcome our Lady Angler's to the gallery, and Miss Caroline is all smiles showing off this keeper rockfish while fishin with Captain Bucky April 27th! Thanks Captain Bucky!

Thanks to Captain Bucky, all the Hokies fans are happy to see Lady Angler Katie with a two hand grip on a super nice rockfish while Captain Brandon and Captain Zane make sure that fish aint goin anywhere! Great things happen when a few of those Petey parachutes are in the mix! Way to go!

Check out Captain Brandon showin off this beautiful rockfish brought on board while fishin with Captain Bucky! As you can see so far, Captain Bucky and crew had some nice fish to put in the box!

The beginning of May is off to an incredible start. Wavedancer completed the Northerneck Grand Slam with this beautiful turkey in the morning, and two monster rockfish in the same day! Captain Ivan reports six pack schoolies and tandems did the trick on the rockfish, don't think Petey rigs do much for turkeys!

Here's the answer to the question I get asked a lot, Petey do you fish? Yes indeed, this trip on the Big Kenny Rockfish Express made quick work of catching our limit. Caught on a Dallas Cowboy six pack schoolie! How about that! FISH ON!

Check out Big Kenny showin off his 42" rockfish with a smile almost as big as the fish! Big Kenny nailed this one on a Blue/White 6 arm umbrella from Petey's Tackle! Way to go!

Finishing off the morning on the Big Kenny Rockfish Express is Captain Tom Showing off his 41" Rockfish caught on a grape glitter 6 arm umbrella from Petey's Tackle! Man the fillet knives hadn't dried in the dishwasher and we were back at the dock! WOW!

Check out Captain Paul Jr of that Coles Point Crew back at it again showin off this beautiful 44" rockfish brought in on a Shamu tandem from Petey's Tackle! As you can see the crew has not missed a beat since last week! Way to go guys!

Captain Dave made the trip to Montross to reload his spread with Petey's deadly Blue/White spire point parachute bucktail after this 38" Rockfish went nuts on the floor of the boat busting both eyes out! Captain Dave added a few more and says he is going to keep fishing his now eyeless parachute!

Here is Captain Dave again with a 37" Rockfish caught last week on a rig made up by Petey's Tackle! This Spring season is off to a great start! FISH ON! Petey!

Check out this husband and wife team, Lady Angler Renee and Captain Howard with two Whopper Rockfish caught on a few rigs and jigs from Petey's Tackle! Blue/White 6 arm umbrellas produced a 41" fish for Captain Howard and a 46" fish for Lady Angler Renee! Way to go!

Captain Morgans Charters made quick work out of making Lady Angler Kelsey and Captain Tim" and, who is in the area on a special assignment, very happy anglers showin off a 36" & 38". Congrats to Kelsey and Tim on their first Rockfish! It is still not to late to book a trip with Captain Morgans, details on our links page! Nice job! April 27th on the rivah! Man this is what the Spring season is all about! FISH ON! Petey!

Talk about first timers! Captain Chris (my neighbor),along with his two kids Mekenzie & Aaron, said he wanted to start rockfishing, so I took him in my shed, handed him Two poles, Two Petey Rigs, and my net, told him to find the green can outside the creek and put the Rigs in. Needless to say, they followed Petey's instructions and landed a 30", 35", and 36" rockfish in a hour and a half! Somebody just discovered the thrill of Trophy Rockfishing!

The Big Kenny Rockfish Express hit it again the next day with a new crew, including a long time friend of both Big Kenny and Petey, Mr Eaton shown here with a nice 35" caught on a white 6 arm umbrella from Petey's Tackle! Way to go Mr Eaton!

Here again is Big Kenny with another nice Rockfish caught on a glitter green umbrella! Now that Big Kenny has found them, I think we may see a few more fish pictures from Big Kenny! Nice job!

Closing out the day at 8am with their limit, Captain Brian on the Big Kenny Rockfish Express showing off this nice 36" Rockfish caught on a Blue/white umbrella from Petey's Tackle! Way to go guys!

Captain Bucky Titled this picture he sent "Queens Full", that's right each Lady Angler aboard showing off some really nice rockfish with 2 out of the 3 caught on a Perch (Black/White) rigs from Petey's! Captain Bucky reports the rivah is loaded with fish, some with sea lice!

Yet again, here is Captain Zane fishin on board with Captain Bucky holding this Whopper Rockfish! This 47" HOG was landed on one of Petey's 6 pack schoolies! So far this crew has caught a huge fish every trip out! Way to go! FISH ON! Petey!

Here we go again with Captain Chad puttin the hammer on them big Rocfish! This time Captain Chad was joined by his wife Lady Angler Shauna for good luck and good luck resulted in this fat 44" Rockfish! Captain Chad reports the Blue/White tandem got it done!

Another husband wife team, Lady Angler Shauna fishing with Captain Chad landed her first Rockfish, a nice 36", on a grape/white/chartreuse tandem from Petey's Tackle! This is truly awesome to see the success of so many first timers! FISH ON! Petey!

Captain Adam has been catchin a few fish and sent in a few pictures to show off his catch! Captain Adam reports he has had his hands full pullin a few rigs and jigs from Petey's Tackle landin fish between 35" and 46"! Nice Fish! Petey!

Captain Adam says its been a good year landing 20 fish over 35" since opening day. Here he is with another whopper! Captain Adam says tell Frog tighten up!! WOW!

We knew it would not be long before we saw some awesome pictures from Captain Piers of Piers Light Tackle Charters! Those three guys got some nice fish to put some meat on the table! Way to go!

Here we are again with Captain Piers and another happy customer! Captain Piers reports the Grape Ape got it done!

Another happy Angler fishing with Captain Piers landed fishin some old black parachutes from Petey's Tackle chased with some perch shad! FISH ON! Petey!

This triple threat did a little rockfish curling for this picture! Captain Piers knows how to send them home with a big smile on their face! Way to go!

Captain Wesly didn't send much info other than his Petey rigs and jigs put some nice fish in the box! Yes a picture is worth 1000 words! Way to go!

Here is Captain Ray with Captain in Training Josh showin off a monster rockfish caught May 3rd on the rivah! Captain Ray reports he landed this 49" 45# citation rockfish on a 4oz chartreuse single parachute from Petey's Tackle! Very Nice fish gentlemen! FISH ON! Petey!

Here is Captain Tony who on the advice of some friends came down to see Petey on the hard pavement in Montross for some fishin gear! As you can see, the results are in with Captain Tony showin off this nice 36" rockfish, his first ever, caught around Coles Point! Captain Tony called that 6-arm a "beginners idiot" rig! I say nice job Captain Tony! Way to go!

Here is another happy customer who spent enough time with Captain Piers to land to land this nice rockfish on May 9th! Captain Piers reports this one came in on an umbrella rig with a Kermit in tow! Way to go! FISH ON! Petey!

Here is Captain in Training Jonathan fishin with Dad, Captain Allen, showin how to getter done with this nice 36" rockfish caught on a white 4-arm umbrella from Petey's Tackle while pulling a set of Petey's planer boards! Captain Allen and CIT Jonathan worked it and got a nice one! FISH ON! Petey!

I just enjoy seeing the first timers catchin a nice fish! Fishin with Captain Bucky, Lady Angler Stephanie hauled in this nice 34" rockfish on a grape ape from Petey's Tackle! Stephanie aint so sure what to do with this rascle...that's where the bearded guy comes in to play! Nice Nice Nice! Way to go! Petey!

Here is Lady Angler Deb fishin with Captain Bucky and this bearded guy with the shades showing off a nice 43" rockfish caught on a white Ruby Lip that Captain Bucky says he picked up from Petey's tackle 5 years ago and it is still rollin! Man that rockfish mojo Petey dips those baits in must be powerful! Way to go! FISH ON! Petey!

Here is Captain Davey once again as you can see holding this biggun that was landed with a Dallas Cowboy 6-arm umbrella from Petey's Tackle! Way to go Captain Davey! Man you must stand by all the poles with the Dallas Cowboy in tow!

Good Golly Miss Molly Captain Tom fishin with the Coles Point Crew with this nice rockfish caught on a Shamu the Killer Rockfish bait from Peteys Tackle! People always ask me, "Do Black jigs catch fish?" Answer, "Yes!". FISH ON! Petey!

Captain Ron made his first trip of the season May 11 and finally got his season off to a great start with this beautiful rockfish! Captain Ron reports this fish was caught on a white tandem from Petey's Tackle! Great job! Petey!

Here is Captain Mike fishin with Captain Ron showin off this nice 34" Rockfish landed on a 6-pack schoolie from Peteys Tackle! Way to go Captain Mike! FISH ON! Petey!

Captain John fishin with Captain Dave holding their limit for the day! Captain Dave reports the fish really like the new Blue/White spire point he picked up to replace the other one! Glad you had it on board Captain Dave! Way to go! Petey!

Here is Lady Angler Lori all the way from Tennessee fishin with Captain Bucky, showin off a nice 37" rockfish caught on a Captain Bucky special! I know they got Stripe Bass in them lakes all across Tennessee, but welcome to the Rockfish Capital of the World Lori! FISH ON! Petey!

! Fishin with Captain Bucky, Captain Jason hauled in this nice 38" rockfish on a 6-pack schoolie perch rig from Petey's Tackle! I'm not sure if Captain Jason is one of the Tennessee crew but at this time in the season it is good to see a nice grade of fish still around! Way to go! Petey!

I just enjoy seeing the first timers catchin a nice fish and this is Captain Nathan from Tennessee showin off a nice 34" rockfish caught on a Grape ape while fishin with Captain Bucky! Man that grape ape from Petey will gettem when nothin else will! Way to go! FISH ON! Petey!

Here is Lady Angler Lori again fishin with Captain Bucky this time with a nice local 30" rockfish! Looks like Lori and crew will get a chance to eat some fresh out of the water Rockfish and pack the cooler with the rest for a trip back to Tennessee! Wow, nice job! FISH ON! Petey!!

Captain Jim, fishin with his father-in-law Captain Dave and his Dad Captain Dave from Tennessee, hauled in this nice 32" rockfish caught on a Blue/White spire point Captain Dave picked up from Petey's Tackle as a replacement! Yes that same parachute is still getting it done! Way to go! FISH ON! Petey!

I met Kevin of Captain Chubbys Charters for the first time at the captains meeting for the opening day Colonial Beach VFD tournament. He picked up a few rigs and jigs from Petey, and look at the results! Yes it has been a season to remember! Petey!

There is that two fisted pump from Kevin of Captain Chubbys Charters! Man oh man those are some beautiful fish! Kevin reports some simple 12in 6arm white and chartreuse umbrellas he picked up at the captains meeting did the trick! Way to go! FISH ON! Petey!

Yet another one from Kevin of Captain Chubbys Charters! I think this guy has figured it out! Get a nice boat in the water, put a few rigs and jigs from Petey's Tackle on your lines, and let the pictures tell the story! Way to get it done Captain Chubby! Petey!

Don't try to tell Captain Bucky its over! Pictured here is the Memorial Day crew that went out for a little fun and some fishin with Captain Bucky! Captain Bucky is still on a roll, reelin them in and fillin the box! Super, nice job! FISH ON! Petey!!
